An investment of over 1 billion euros for a new terminal at Otopeni Airport

Henri Coanda-Bucharest International Airport could have a new passenger terminal, part of a large development project that will include a platform, runway system, access roads, parking lots and buildings, estimated at 4.75 billion ROL (over 1 billion euros).

The measure is contained in a draft Government Decision for the approval of the technical – economic indicators of investment objective of national interest and public interest “strategic development program of the airway infrastructure at the International Airport Henri Coanda Bucharest”, published by the Ministry of Transport.

Otopeni Airport currently has a single terminal, consisting of several buildings. The new project will practically be the second terminal of the airport and will be a few hundred meters from the current terminal.

“The value of the investment objective of national interest and public utility ‘strategic development program of the airway infrastructure at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport’ is 4,752,181 thousand, including VAT, equivalent to 1,022,656 thousand euros,” says project put into debate by the Ministry of Transport.

The duration of the investment is five years.

The financing of the project will be made from own sources of the National Airport of Bucharest (CNAB), the company managing the airport, from non-reimbursable funds, bank credits, legal forms of private equity participation.
